NBC and Universal Sports air enhanced 2008 Olympic Games coverage

![]() As a prelude to its coverage of the 2009 swimming, track and field, and gymnastics world championships, Universal Sports presents "Pieces of '08, Beijing Stories", inspirational and memorable stories from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The 20 episode segment airs every weeknight at 7 p.m. through July 17 and offers a look-back at the achievements of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team. The first 10 episodes are set to include four gymnastics specials beginning with "Don't Count Us Out,” the men's gymnastics team final. Viewers will also be able to watch the women's team final, women's all-around final, and women’s event finals with additional, never-before-seen material. "'Pieces of 08,' truly captures the magic of the Beijing Games – the competition, the emotions, the behind-the-scenes moments – and lets the viewer relive the Games in a completely new way," said Universal Sports' Executive and Emmy-award winning producer David Michaels. Each show – hosted by Jimmy Roberts, NBC's Emmy Award-winning writer and reporter – follows a different sport, event or athlete reliving the best competition, stories and moments captured by NBC in its coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The first episodes of the series, "One World, One Dream", began Monday, June 22 with a three-hour review of the amazing Opening Ceremony. Universal Sports, available in 45 million homes, will air an episode of “Pieces of ‘08 at 7 p.m. ET each night, with re-airs at 11 p.m. ET and the next day at 12 p.m. ET.
