Johnson advances to finals of "Dancing with the Stars"

2008 Olympic balance beam gold-medalist Shawn Johnson and partner Mark Ballas advanced to the finals of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." Based on the judges scores and fan voting from Monday night's dances, "Team Shark" will join actor Gilles Marini and his partner Cheryl Burke along with "The Bachelor" personality Melissa Rycroft and her partner Tony Dovolani in next Monday's finals. The couples will each perform a dance to the same song followed by a freestyle dance. The champion of the eighth season of the show will be crowned on Tuesday, May 19. Ten celebrities have been eliminated from competition: Belinda Carlisle (singer), David Alan Grier (comedian), Lil’ Kim (rapper), Holly Madison (reality show personality), Ty Murray (rodeo), Denise Richards (actress), Steve-O (comedian), Lawrence Taylor (football), Chuck Wicks (singer), and Steve Wozniak (Apple Computers). Ty Murray was eliminated the May 12 results show. The last performance show of the season will be Monday, May 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. |
